The Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, meeting in Strasbourg on 24 January 2000 with Mr Jansson in the Chair, as regards:
Constitutional situation in Ukraine: decided to put this question on the agenda of its meeting on Tuesday 25 January 2000 at 8 h 30;
- Compensation for Croatian and Bosnian investors in the former Ljubljanska Banka AG, Slovenia (Rapporteur: Mr Columberg, Switzerland, EPP/CD): heard a statement by the Rapporteur on his visit to Ljubljana (19-21 January 2000);
- Restrictions on asylum in the member States of the Council of Europe and the European Union (Rapporteur for opinion: Mrs Aguiar, Portugal, EPP/CD): approved the opinion of the Rapporteur, to be presented at the Assembly's January 2000 part-session;
- Situation in Belarus (Rapporteur for opinion: Mr Jansson, Finland, LDR): considered, and unanimously approved an opinion, to be presented at the Assembly's January 2000 part-session;
- International adoption: respecting children's rights (Rapporteur: Mrs Wohlwend, Liechtenstein, EPP/CD): considered and approved an opinion and an amendment to the draft recommendation, to be presented at the Assembly's January 2000 part-session;
