The Committee on Rules of
Procedure and Immunities, meeting in Strasbourg on 27 June 2001 with Mr

As regards:

Request for the waiver of the immunity of members of the Parliamentary
Assembly:
a)
was informed by the Rapporteur, Mrs Dromberg (Finland, EDG), on
developments concerning the request for the waiver of the immunity of Mr
Silvio Berlusconi as member of the Parliamentary Assembly;
b)
appointed Mr Olteanu (Romania, SOC) Rapporteur, to consider the
procedure concerning requests for the waiver of the immunity of members;

Number of Rapporteurs of a Committee (Rule 49.1. of the Rules of
Procedure), Rapporteur: Mrs Akgönenç, Turkey (EDG): held an
exchange of views on a draft opinion to the Bureau of the Assembly and asked
the Rapporteur to present an updated version in the light of the discussion
held;

Proposal to modify Rule 45 of the Rules of Procedure by Mr Besostri
(Italy, SOC): asked the Secretariat to prepare an information note on the
interpretation of Rule 45.4. and
Rule 48.6.;

Tabling and examination of amendments: appointed
Mr Vis (United Kingdom, SOC) Rapporteur;

Simplification of the procedure for including elections on the agendas
for Assembly’s part sessions: appointed Mr Kroupa (Czech
Republic, EPP/CD) Rapporteur;

Agreed to meet again during the next part-session of the Assembly
(24-28 September 2001).
