PACE rapporteur reacts to abduction and abuse of Oleg Kozlovsky in Ingushetia

Frank Schwabe (Germany, SOC), PACE rapporteur on the continuing need to restore human rights and the rule of law in the North Caucasus region, today responded to the attack on an Amnesty International researcher sent to observe peaceful protests in Maga, Ingushetia.

“I am outraged by the recent abduction and violent abuse of Oleg Kozlovsky, apparently by the Ingushetian police,” said Mr Schwabe. “Russia must urgently investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice. Human rights should be respected all over the world, without exceptions.”
