Election of the judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Germany

In today's election of the judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Germany, none of the candidates obtained an absolute majority of the votes cast.

A second round of voting will be held on Thursday 27 June from 10 am to 12 noon and from 3.30 to 5 pm, where a relative majority will be required.

Judges are elected by PACE from a list of three candidates nominated by each State which has ratified the European Convention on Human Rights.
