PACE to assess the second round of the Presidential election in Poland

A four-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), will travel to Poland from 10 to 13 July to assess the second round of the Presidential election.

The delegation is due to meet the members of the Special Election Assessment Mission sent by the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), before assessing voting on Sunday 12 July.

The delegation is composed of:

- Stefan Schennach (Austria, SOC), head of delegation
- Yuliya Lovochkina (Ukraine, SOC)
- Gerardo Giovagnoli (San Marino, SOC)
- Reinhold Lopatka (Austria, EPP/CD)

A member of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.

PACE systematically assesses elections in all states subject to the Assembly’s full monitoring procedure.

The delegation will issue a statement at the end of the visit.
