Origin - 2013 - Fourth part-session

In the draft resolution, replace paragraph 12 with the following paragraph:

"Furthermore, the Assembly asks the Committee of Ministers to urge the authorities and political leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina to amend the Constitution and electoral legislation in conformity with the Sejdic-Finci judgement without any delay."

Explanatory note

The suspension of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Council of Europe could represent the loss to the country of credibility at the international and internal level. That could create political complications in the country as it will not be able to hold elections until October 2014. That means a very confused situation could be created with an unknown result.
